Piano Arrangements That Sounds So Good

Think your fave song sounds great as it is? Wait till you hear a piano cover!

There’s nothing more beautiful in this world than listening to a piano arrangement of a musical piece. I can’t quite wrap my head around the WHY’s, but there’s just something about the sound of it that feels like your soul gets a little hug. Guess you can say, out of all the musical instruments, the piano is what I love the most.

Now, I’ve simply compiled a list of my favorite pieces, in no particular order. I really hope you can listen to it too!

  • MY HEART WILL GO ON. My fave arrangement is this one from Arqam Sajid. Too good to be put into words. This is the classic romantic song no matter the generation. Titanic, remember? This literally made me practice piano again after more than 10 years, that’s why it’s so special. ❤

  • NUVOLE BIANCHE. Ludovico Einaudi has a lot of beautiful compositions. His pieces have the same distinct sound (I don’t know if it’s just me), but this is my #1. It sounds so calm and solemn, but strikingly powerful. Alexander Flemming did a great piano cover, but for another arrangement (one you could probably follow), click here.
  • LIGHT OF THE SEVEN. If you watch Game of Thrones, then this should sound familiar to you. Light of the Seven, originally composed by the brilliant Ramin Djawadi, is the piece played in the mind-blowing Season 6 finale (where Cersei blew up the Sept of Baelor and killed all her enemies in an instant, including Margaery and Loras HUHU). It is the first time a piano is used in the music for GoT so it’s kind of a big deal. Plus the scenes are just so awesome, I can’t. Dramatic, haunting, and overwhelming. Watch Akmigone play his original arrangement here. Disclaimer, it’s amazing.
  • LA LA LAND MEDLEY. I absolutely adore the soundtrack and score of La La Land. I mean, after I finished watching the film, I can’t stop playing the music for a period of time. David Kaylor made a piano medley of the compositions of Justin Hurwitz.  It covered everything, from Another Day of Sun to The End. Watch it here!  Just imagine the amount of work he put into completing this whole medley.
  • BAD THINGS. This song from Camila Cabello and Machine Gun Kelly sounds so good on piano. And why is that? It’s played by one of the greatest & underrated Pianists (ever), Ray Mak! He has a way of playing songs perfectly, and I swear his YouTube needs more views and subscribers!
  • LOVE SONG. Not just because I’m a Big Bang fan. If you listen to the original song and watch the music video, you’ll be introduced to something raw, and soothing. In piano, it’s as if feelings emerge from every note. Ray Mak has done it again. Watch it here.
  • HARU HARU. This is the first song I’ve ever heard from Big Bang, and it makes me emotional on a different level. Sure, you get the balance of melodies (with the rap) in the song, but its piano version is PLAIN SADNESS (in a good way). It captures the melancholy of the song with the cover’s acoustic appeal. Imo, Lee Hugo has the best piano cover in Youtube.
  • MR. BLUE SKY. I’m not all about the sad piano covers. One of my favorites also includes Mr. Blue Sky from Electric Light Orchestra (thanks to GotG v2!!!) It’s very fun to play! You can probably conclude that just by listening to the first 20 seconds. Click here.

My true list would probably take a couple of pages.

But just to set the limit, these 8 pieces are my top favorites.

Let me know what you think!
