Our first try of this waterproof camera.
Our two little cousins from the Pilar, Camotes Island visited us here in Manila for the summer break! And you pretty much know what that means – babysitting, fun games and activities, bonding time, and a long list of places to visit. Here we are – Day 2 – and we decided to go for a quick night swim. They’re used to the ocean, but they have no problem with pools.
During our quick swim, I also got to test the Fujifilm FinePix XP 120 (described as “a water-proof tough, compact camera” that becomes a “perfect companion for your active life”) if it really works well underwater…
Here are some of the pictures we took!
The setting I used for all the pictures is Underwater. And since it’s night time, the cam kinda recognized the scene so it also used FLASH for all. These are not the raw photos, but I didn’t really edit it that much. Just added a bit of brightness and contrast while making sure it looked the part (raw).

Now time for the underwater shots! We noticed that there are a lot of bubbles, or orbs??? (What do you call those) in the photos.

It was really fun doing our best wacky and maarte poses. Will probably make another article testing this FinePix cam during a day swimming one of these days.

Reminder: If you have a waterproof phone or camera, don’t forget to wash it with running water, after taking it out for a swim/underwater action. The chemicals in the pool might harm your camera, without you knowing it.
