Certainly not with Dylan Wang around.
If only there were more hours on a Saturday, and I didn’t have work to do, I probably would have finished all episodes by now…
Just kidding. Quite impossible, because this Chinese TV series a.k.a. “insanely popular Meteor Garden” reboot will have 48 episodes (and we’re like at still at Ep 27??).
Let’s get a bit nostalgic
The year was 2003. I was 7 years old. A simple grade 1 student. The Taiwanese TV adaptation of the manga series Hana Yori Dango, “Meteor Garden,” was aired in the Philippines, and the whole country was hooked!
There’s no stopping the elite clique called the Flower Four (F4), from stealing not just San Cai’s heart, but probably hundreds of thousands of girls’ as well.
The story of the extremely rich, powerful, talented, and handsome, but hot-tempered, aggressive, and loud Dao Ming Si falling in love with San Cai was an unstoppable craze! There’s just no denying it. The show was well-loved in most parts across Asia, and even in America.
Back with major feels
The newest reboot of the show definitely brought back all the FEELS from many years ago! And while we’re not sure how this whole, new adaptation would fare, there’s one thing we could probably conclude as early as now…

DYLAN/ DAO MING SI IS FREAKING HOT!!!
Honestly speaking, Jerry Yan isn’t my favorite Dao Ming Si *gasps* because my favorite adaptation is actually Japan’s (there’s just something about Hana Yori Dango that truly captures your heart for a long time).
The new Meteor Garden had Dylan Wang play the role of Dao Ming Si, and I must say, he can dethrone all other Dao Ming Sis and just immediately bag the best-looking award!! Just. Look. At. Him.

The intensity of his gaze

His sexy jawline

His clueless, innocent look

His angry and scary face

His charming smile

His sly smirk

His calm, peaceful, and loving look

His challenging and watchful stare
Oh, I could go on and on. He is just too beautiful for words.
His acting may not be the best, but he has his own charm. I love Dylan Wang as the charming bad boy Dao Ming Si slash devilishly debonair man slash adorable lover slash cute, grumpy, and clueless-at-love guy.
He’s so squeal and swoon-worthy, I bet the female viewers just can’t resist him too.

Why isn’t Hua Ze Lei serving us a second lead syndrome?
The second lead syndrome is when fans prefer the female lead to end up with the second male lead than the male lead.
We experienced this with Vic Chou – Hua Ze Lei. But the new Meteor Garden doesn’t have this particular touch.
Is it because Hua Ze Lei is supposed to build a deeper chemistry with Shan Cai?
Is it because Darren has such a cute face, and not a strong and manly one?
Is it because we have yet to see another Shan Cai – Hua Ze Lei romantic moment?
I actually don’t know. But I guess it’s because Dylan Wang is already PURE PERFECTION.
I know, I’m biased. But what can I do?
Fangirl with me!
